A lot of the time the rhythm on this falls into "You Can't Hurry Love."

I was pretty lax on hearing new music, and need to catch up. Gothic Archies is prolly a top 5 album of the year for me. Others:

Julie Roberts' Men & Mascara (the album)
Hilary Duff - "The Getaway"
Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" (was either early November or late October)

Moggy, I just heard "Robot Song" for the first time yesterday. Like it. Achingly lovelorn in a way that reminds me of Nelly Furtado's "All Good Things (Come To An End)," but more robotic. "Robot Song" comes on as a deliberately goofy novelty song, then it's suddenly insanely pretty, a full-on passionate love song. Too bad her paramour is made of tin.

(Speaking of Furtdo, her "Say It Right" is another one of my songs of the month. It has its own robot moments, but the robot is playing a Jew's harp.)

This might be my favorite on the album, great song anyway, and then she blindsides you with pathos. I imagine this as some kind of tragic twist on "Digital Love," where one party is human and the other an android (since obviously "Digital Love" is about two robots who are in love with each other and eventually get married -- you can see the robot wedding in the lovely happy middle section, which reminds me of my own wedding, which Daft Punk will be playing at as long as they let me do a keyboard solo -- and then finally they have kids in an exhilirating, heartwarming snapshot montage at the end there, with little android babies). New genre of heartbreak songs, the doomed interinterfacial romance.
