Nine (+6)

Own: 74, 77, 86, 89, 93, 96, 03, 04, 05

Pooh Sticks (= "I've got it on tape"): 76, 78, 81, 82, 87, 88

I've also heard Thriller but none of the others. I tend to avoid canonical alBUMs on the whole.

Hmm, should I list my own fave LPs for these years? Perhaps not.

yes let's!

i can't go before '89 tho:

89 De La Soul - Three Feet High & Rising
90 Public Enemy - Fear Of A Black Planet
91 808 State - Ex:El
92 Altern 8 - Full On...Mask Hysteria
93 Pearl Jam - Vs (AIEEEEEEEEE)
94 Prodigy - Music For The Jilted Generation
95 Goldie - Timeless
96 Faithless - Reverence
97 Daft Punk - Homework
98 Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty
99 Basement Jaxx - Remedy
00 Laurent Garnier - Unreasonable Behaviour
01 The Avalanches - Since I Left You
02 The Streets - Original Pirate Material
03 Outkast - Speakerboxx/The Love Below
04 Annie - Anniemal
05 Broadcast - Tender Buttons
06 The Knife - Silent Shout

those were what i picked at the time (De La was the first and only album i bought in '89 - never got round to buying Inner City's or Soul II Soul's like i meant to - so that's by default)

I have allowed myself a touch of revisionism while still being true to what I liked at the time.

it's a bit more jazz-orientated and not quite as relentless as 'OK Cowboy' but tracks like 'The Sound Of The Big Babou' and 'Dangeous Drive' paved the way for 'La Rock' and 'Poney' i think.

'Xtrmntr' was so nearly my fave of 2000 (may have been 2nd in a list i did but that was a very lean year imo)

so we nearly had same choice for 1990, 1995 AND 2000 there
