Date: 2006-10-05 01:15 pm (UTC)which suggests to me that K Saunderson knows more about good house riddims more than anyone else in history. his beats on 'Big Fun' and 'Good Life' just have a great shuffle and bounce to them that's ALMOST reluctant as if being pulled along by force of TEH AWESOME VOIB. so there's this sense of 'drag' which i personally LOVE and find v appealing dance-wise but he balances this out elsewhere so the track as a whole cascades quite gloriously.
another example of this 'dragging' sense rhythmically is Basement Jaxx's 'Stop 4 Love' which is completely different in purpose and style but has similar approach rhythm wise, i think.
