Matos's EXTREME dislike of SOTT (the song) amuses me but rankles. Yes, it's atypical Prince and I can allow for his need to compensate for the fact that ppl who didn't previously like Prince praised it to the skies. But come on.

Xgau was aghast but not surprised that "Sign-O" beat "U Got The Look" - as it's doing here so far, which disappoints and surprises me.

It is "important" in the sense that it acknowledges something important, not in having much of an impact.

I ticked SOTT because it's Prince, but U Got the Look beats it by a country mile as far as singles go.
