A delay in the poll caused by my having some work, but finally the ship of retrospective metapop criticism sails into the waters of 1983 - Jackson the winner, Culture Club getting some serious vote-splitting, and this year the P&J poll included a BEST VIDEO section for the first time, which we might well discuss in a separate YouTube-enabled poll later (I can't get YouTube at work).

Procedural Note: I've excised "Back On The Chain Gang" by the Pretenders as it featured last time.

I ticked Modern Love over Let's Dance. Both are great though - I hated them for a long time as a self-identified "Bowie fan" but as a pop fan you can't deny em really.

Let's Dance is one of the worst singles to be sung by The Worst Voice In The History Of Pop.

Also this contains Karma Chameleon AS WELL. Two of my least favourite records in one poll!

i should tell you all that his drum n' base album ws the only David Bowie album I heard while browsing at bks (a couple of years ago in waterstones near charing X at about half an hour before closing time).

a sign of quality, if there ever was one!

Black tie white noise is the one w/ Lester Bowie on it, isn't it? For joke purposes alone it is obv better (I am close to being a DBowie hata)
