While we prepare the amazing follow-up to the Now polls series (ahem), we will close the book on them with a series of pollfites to work out which of our 64 victors is actually the best.

A very simple format - just tick the song you like best in each question. Rather than do it randomly, or just 2 by 2, each fight is a winner from NOWs 1-32 against one from NOWs 33-64, giving us a chance to think about the ways pop has changed.

Due to LJ poll limitations we'll be doing this initial batch in three chunks.

[Poll #794482]

ROAR

The next 11 tomorrow.

(and yes I know I need to do the pop star poll too - the picture components in that make it less office-safe tho so I'll do it at home)

Gala suffers by coming up against the legend that is K. Bush. What seems clear to me from this poll is that Poptimists love Kate Bush and hate the Chemical Brothers.

Incidentally, you know Placebo have started covering that particular Kate Bush song live? I saw them play it at Benicassim, but since no-one on YouTube seems to have the video, here's them doing it at Rock Am Ring (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u58X5Lb7qkM).

but perhaps it will get teen indiegoth types into Kate Bush for the first time, which could be a silver lining.

K8 doesn't NEED teen indiegoth types. NO ONE DOES. WE DON'T WANT THEM. They should all just slash their wrists and be DONE with it instead of POLLUTING OUR LOVELY POP.

What we really need is a K8 remix album ala the Dep Mode one from 2004. But preferably next to no indieists featured. :)

I must re-locate that Infusion mix of RUTH.

have you heard the Radio Slave rmx of 'King Of The Mountain'? I think it's the one on that MANDY mix...also both 'Nocturn' and 'Aerial' are perfect closers to rave sets.

Someone on ILX once joked about Justus Kohncke covering 'This Woman's Work'. I DREAM ABOUT THAT.

'Nocturn' is quite Balearic! and would mix well with The B-52s 'Deep Sleep'

JLC could do naughty, wondrous things to 'Aerial'

and my other request is TrendyMullet or similar reworking 'Waking The Witch'

as for 'RUTH' remix, Rex The Dog autopilot would be most obvious choice

RTD to do 'Hounds Of Love' too!

Vitalic for 'Get Out Of My House'
Tiefschwarz for 'Experiment IV'

I have never heard a Kate Bush song! And I really like Placebo. So I guess this argument works!
