Of course track 7 off the Lily album is the one that sounds like Dawn Penn. The rest of the album is grebt too, but I'd heard most of that before July!

For me it was a toss-up between the Peter, Bjorn and John record (an early-morning bus-ride over Millbank with whistling in my ears and sunshine) or the new Pet Shop Boys single. There's just something...stately about it. Dignified. It should sound dated, but it doesn't; I can hear bits of New Order in it; the pizzicato bit at the end is melancholy as lights going on over the dancefloor at the end of the night.

I've also rediscovered Lorraine this month. But it was hard to think of anything as I haven't really noticed July - any other month would have far too many suggestions :) Also, I am intrigued by what the new R.Williams single will sound like...
