Glamma Kid's cover of Carly Simon's 'Why' is the only lite reggae thing he did tho isn't it?

best to go with Simon's original tho surely.

not that Glamma Kid isn't ACE btw, which he clearly is.

I can only remember Sweetest Taboo, to be honest. I wanted to give props to the Kid. That or I'm thinking of another record entirely.

I notice there has been no mention of Ver 40 yet. Why is this?

They are very bad at lite reggae, and my theory on this (which sparked the whole train of thought in my brain) is that they are all too into Actual Reggae and have an element of guilt (there is also INDIE GUILT too from their post-punk roots).

I frequent a talkboard on A Popular Left-Leaning Newspaper, and in their music folder 9 times out of 10 there's a thread called 'UB40 - The Hate Never Stops.' Rather like people who protest against the lack of an English Parliament, I can't help thinking that there are so many more deserving targets.

well they were awful very very often but they have about 7 or 8 songs i'm prepared to defend.
