(No not regularly.)

Last.fm has had a bit of a makeover. Actually more than just a bit over the last few months – it's got new new functions that I haven't got the hang of yet. But there are free tracks that play in the page (flash'd up innit), a nice overview of your friends recent plays (so YES it turns out i should be listening to some Klaxons), more shouts and recommendations, and cleverness.

Shame it's running like a cow, and they've gone for that same appley/bezel look in the headers. And diagonal AND vignetted background. erk. at least no "wet floor" images.

I've been neglecting it for some time now, but I'm going to put some more effort into tagging up some more poptimism tracks to play on the poptimism radio (link only works with the last.fm player). Thanks to mitya for his shout on how to do this easier.

As ever the tracklisting of our scrobbled group – what poptimists ACTUALLY spend their time listening to - is at odds with what LJ poptimists is here for. But I say: that's a good thing. It's nice that "we" have different modes of listening - poptimism is a part of us, not everything - variety an' all that. That said, some weeks, the indie guilt on display is almost too much. Actually this week, tracks, not so bad...

I kind of feel that there shd be more argument and counter-argument about these tracks and bands though - not just "oh its indie pass the crucifix" since obviously we all listen to it, but actually discussing what works and why in This Sort Of Thing (the way we've done about eg Lily A and the Pipettes)

Also I can't see the tracks and stuff cos of work blocking as per.

I kind of like it when some random old album track - like "Vicar In A Tutu" - shows up out of nowhere.

What's the record score for a track in a given week I wonder? You'd think everyone on the group wd be at least a bit interested in the Justin record.

or they might have the title wrong e.g. 'Sexy Back', 'Sexy's Back', 'SexxyBack', 'SexbackLOL' etc.

I could actually imagine that 6 people playing the same song in one week may BE the record.

Other flaws:

- Not having last.fm access at work
- Or indeed somewhere to put mp3s

I can only hear new stuff via streaming from artist websites or the podcast. Or on Hits!TV, of course... :-) Speaking of Hits, I saw the new Bouncy single and it is fab!

Abs?!

The most execrable solo career from any disintegrated pop group, and I mean that "execrable" when I use it.

I didn't know anyone anywhere actually listened to him.

I actually just remembered it was Wednesday and sent you something, Alan. Inflicting more Russian music on the masses, this time their first "internet artist."
