I like Betty Boo's records OK but I have no mental image of what she represents in "pop stardom" terms (indeed no firm idea of what she even looks like - that picture doesn't help, it hinders if anything). I reluctantly conclude she is not a pop star. Prince wins by default.

but as great as Boo is, and as rubbish as Prince could sometimes be, I only have to consider 90% of his 80s output for him to get real ticked.

I don't really know what a "chav" is, but I have a feeling Lily is one. That picture robs her of much girlish (ie innocent) charm, which is actually pretty key to her appeal, I think - the contrast between a playful image and the smart talk. I wonder if and how she will handle the transition to being a Woman.

Just random thoughts there. Never any doubt that it was Elvis this round. My guess is that pretty much whoever has the longest career will win these first round head-to-heads.
