The Pop World Cup: You have until TONIGHT to vote in the final (and the third place match) of the Pop World Cup. Results announced tomorrow and handover of the 'trophy' to an agreed representative of the winning team on Friday (see below).

Poptimists Birthday Celebration: On Friday I put up a poll asking what we should do for the Poptimists first birthday celebration (it being this very week). In reverse order of popularity the suggestions were:

Booze in a London pub: As it happens I was planning to go for a beer on Friday anyway - what luck! I will announce the where of it on the day.

Some great birthday MP3s: Shhhh! Don't tell THE MAN.

A really gigantic poll: Funny you should ask! We will be running a poll ALL WEEK to discover the official Poptimists best pop star of all time. Who are our nominees? That's up to you. Please make TWO suggestions in the box below - yr first will almost definitely go in, yr second might depending on the response rate. And we need these suggestions by, say, 2pm today. So be quick about it! What qualities you value in a pop star, and indeed the stretchiness of your definition of same, are quite up to you.
