tATu won the Now 54 poll with Girls Alound a close second. Both groups are in it this time, as are Justin, R Kelly and 50 Cent - and the Fast Food Rockers! "Oh, 2003paws", as we wouldn't have said in 2003.

I really REALLY liked the whole Happy People/stepping thing he was doing about a year after this.

I love Ignition (Remix) unreservedly, I think it's a lovely, light, summery, funny, feelgood song. "Snake" is a great banger though and I'd be far more likely to play it 'out'.

One of the funny things about "I(R)" was how it was a rare single that could get critical positioning traction in two directions viz.

"I love pop and see how open minded I am, I even love R KELLY"

"This is a lame track that only know-nothing dilettantes wd like"

Each of these stances is very common but not usually about the same record.

Nah cos position "a" isn't exactly "I am embracing blackness" (the combo of this and you-know-nothing is the commonest ever), it's "I am overlooking naffness and potential highly immoral dodginess in my heroic quest for great pop".

i came round to 'Ignition (Remix)' after months of hate - thanks to ILM i suppose (see also 'Sk8r Boi')

it's all about learning to live with good tracks by people you can't stand innit.
