Well, I'd say that a lot of these aren't leftist so much as they are potentially politically potent in ways that escape the left-right continuum altogether.

I've never heard "Playboys of the Southwestern World," but I'm guessing it's not altogether dissimilar to Shelton's "Good Old Boy, Bad Old Boyfriend," which'd also be eligible for this list. And on some cassette somewhere in my apt. I've got Merle Haggard's "Immigrant." Here are the lyrics (as posted on this guy's blog):
