This is (apparently) a track from Paris Hilton's forthcoming album. It features SWEARING and STRINGS and is therefore brilliant.

Also: "I'll swallow it down".

The string sample is the same one used in 'Paparazzi' by Xzibit, but I think prior to that it might be from some classical piece...

not Paris. :( It's by some group called Sweetbox, who I thought were AZN-pop (they're on avex in Japan and I know they release in Korea) but google says might be german or american or something?

I like this quite a lot, whoever it is; are you sure it's Sweetbox and not Paris? I've never heard either. The vocals do seem as if English might not be the singer's first language. But I like this because it seems half Europop and half r&b, and does seem like something that Storch might try (Scott Storch is one of the people who's worked with Paris; Kara DioGuardi is another).

Er, OK, checking with Wikipedia - which has been known to make mistakes - this is from 2002, with Jade Villalon (born in San Diego, then moved back to Japan at age 3, then moved to L.A., but sometimes lives in Germany; from her looks seems to be half Anglo and half Asian) singing lead: she was the fourth frontwoman for Sweetbox, which first hit back in 1995. Anyway, the lyrics on the mp3 match the lyrics for Sweetbox's "Human Sacrifice."

In any event, I'd like it if Storch, Swizz Beatz, Collipark, et al. would work with some of these Europop-type melodies.

I don't think she's at all Asian? But again this is going by her looks. It's definitely Sweetbox's 'human sacrifice' - it's on their best-of, which I have, and production and singing both seem pretty much identical to me. It's a Korean release (that I got from an asian pop site) which is why I got confused. And I think she did the original versions of a couple of songs which have been released by Ayumi Hamasaki ('the japanese britney spears' etc etc etc, as if britney ever made massive trance tracks like Ayu does, or has been anywhere near as prolific, what is this 'quality' of which you speak?).

Her latest, addicted (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BKgMXUmm7s&search=sweetbox), is one of the best I think. (is youtube - i think you said on ilm that you couldn't deal with youtube being on dialup. Is that just because things take a while to load? because even on my connection I have to hit pause at the beginning and wait for the whole thing to load before I can watch it, so watch out for that I guess.) It melds, not entirely successfully, 'in da club', 'whatta man', and some string sample that I totally recognise, what is it, vivaldi or something, this is going to bug me forever (<--which is the basic reaction to every one of her songs, very familiar classical samples are the sweetbox conceit.)

also, if you're limewiring for 'paris hilton' music tracks, jennifer ellison's 'bye bye boy' is credited to her, as is that song 'you don't see me' from the josie & the pussycats soundtrack by kay hanley.
