Instead of a proper canon this week it's time to celebrate EUROVISION, what is on this weekend. I have selected 15 of the UK's entries, and 15 entries from elsewhere, and you can VOTE for as many as you like.

Good old Eurovision.

[Poll #731984]

Bonus question for the comments box: when the DARK DAY comes when Uncle Terry can no longer do the job, who should take over as E-viz supremo? Or will the contest END in a ravens/tower deal?

I haven't ticked Lordi as I haven't heard them yet.

As for Terry Mk II, it'll blatantly be Graham Norton or someone rub like that. It SHOULD be Simon & Miquita.

YES to Simon and Miquita, they would be the best thing since sliced Tezza.

NO to needing to hear Lordi before voting for them, the pictures say it all.

I have only heard three of these songs :(

I don't actually get very excited about Eurovision :(

I think it is bored (for now) of a certain kind of europop. The parallel I would draw is with the underperformance of most recent GA and Rachel Stevens records (as I said on ILM, Kate Ryan's song is a perfectly decent song that would be perfect for a Stevens B-side).

Ireland and Bosnia qualifying suggests however that some other trad. staples of Eurovision still find favour.

Hurrah & thanks for this poll btw.

I haven't heard any of the songs yet. Last year's theme was LOADS OF TRIBAL DRUMS - what is this year's?

I am so glad Spain are permanent qualifiers. They always either have 1) enormous wumman singing power ballad or 2) girls in swirly dresses doing flamenco-y pop.

THIS YEAR THEY HAVE LAS KETCHUP!!!!

Still, never mind, because you remind me of it, so I listened to it, and it's great.

As a YOUNG SCAMP, for ages I thought that Kylie had covered Sonya's classik entry, but was confused because Kylie's "version" was clearly BEFORE Sonya, and you're not allowed to do covers in Eurovision. POOR CONFUSED LITTLE KAT.

New Eurovision host should be me, obv.

Also, nobody loving "Every Way That I Can" = MENTALISM. Also, "I Wanna" was fantastic.

"Cry Baby" getting more votes than "Come Back" makes me cry. You indie kids.
