The big news on Now 44 is the first appearance of Britney, on a highly pop-centric compilation. Beyond that we have a host of solo Spice singles, Steps, Shania, S Club and a great deal of pop-trance. I would write more but I'm a bit busy - anyway it's an intriguing selection and I'll look forward to seeing what you make of it.

Now 43 was clinched by the Chemical Brothers, leading Basement Jaxx by two votes and "Coffee And TV" by five.

Oh GOD I did not see Supergrass! I think that song might be even worse than the Tom Jones horror. Yuck yuck yuck, it is like dirt sullying the perfect shininess of Britney et al.

i like(d) this Supergrass one. i think it has an element of Madness about it, mainly in what sounds like the chorus but probably isn't.

when "Moving" first came out, I thought it was the moment Supergrass finally jumped the shark, singles-wise. Then I heard it on that "Now we are 10" comp and it sounded great.
