(Hello Poptimists! I hope this isn't considered spam - I thought some of you might be interested in a new music club night thing that some pop fans, 3/4 of them members of this community, are putting on in London town.)

DO DIRT is a new club night in London, with Joey Muck, Lex Pretend, Poptext Abby and Token Girl at the controls. Our boy John Cei "Shot For Meat!" Douglas did the fly illo.

DO DIRT is about mucky pop, rude raps, sleazy rock, filthy electro, horrible house, sweaty funk, grime, and more. DO DIRT encourages making moves, throwing shapes, bumping, grinding, and bouncing.

DO DIRT begins Thursday 29th June, upstairs at Dust (27 Clerkenwell Road, nearest tube Farringdon), 8pm-2am, £3 entry.

At DO DIRT, as well as the names scrawled above, you can expect to hear the likes of: Aggro1 bootlegs, Annie, Tomas Andersson, Ce'cille, Cristina, Felix Da Housecat, Nelly Furtado, Gene Serene, Kano, Mike Jones, Junior Senior, Lady Sovereign, Le Tigre, Lil' Kim, Maxi Geil & Playcolt, Michael Dracula, Miss Kittin, Christina Milian, Mobb Deep, Morningwood, Q-Unit, Rihanna, Juelz Santana, Scenario Rock, Shimura Curves, Spank Rock, Three 6 Mafia, Paul Wall, Zeigeist AND MORE.

DO DIRT exists on the evil MySpace here.

Ooh, sounds meaty, in the best possible way, like a sweaty pie, only sexy. And is quite near me... hmm... send out a reminder nearer the time?

Morningwood ftw.

Although is that Q-Unit as in the novelty Queen/50 Cent mash-up album?

It wouldn't pop in a club, but "From Blue Eyes To Bed Stuy", the Biggie/Sinatra mash-up album, is pretty much perfect. Especially "Unfoolish/Out Beyond the Window". Trust.

NOTE that the girl on the flyer is basically the grimier little sister of the girl on the Sugar (http://www.myspace.com/sugarlondon) flyer! (Sugar being, like, THIS FRIDAY and all, remember.)

everything on that list of bands is indie, obv ;)

this is a truth universally acknowledged because ONLY indie nights list bands you see.

At this rate I won't need my own night...which still hasn't happened yet out of fear/laziness/ignorance/disorganisation. Woop.
