I've noticed that the canon polls keep creeping back to their spiritual home of Fridays - it must be fate! Anyway today in a fit of indulgence we are doing the BEATLES, to celebrate the fact that something written by me about them is going to be in a proper book available in real actual shops later this year. What I find interesting is that if you just looked at this poll, they really look kind of so-so. Put them head to head against Madonna, strongest to weakest, and they'd come out looking like the Candy Skins. It's only when you go deep in their catalog that the brilliance really shows.
