Much demanded in the write-in votes last week, this - here are the UK hit singles of New Order (Blue Monday remixes have been compressed for purposes of voting, and Joy Div's two hits have been flung in to add choice. I thought of putting in Electronic too, but then I really ought to have included Monaco, and we know where THAT leads.

You get NINE picks across the 27 choices, I can guess where the bulk of them are going to lie but the ordering should be of some intrigue.

(Edit: And "Bizarre Love Triangle" wasn't a hit, amazingly since it's probably the best thing they've ever done)

[Poll #712924]

MEANWHILE the Girls Aloud Canon stands as follows. 1 - No Good Advice. 2 - Biology. 3. The Show. 4. Wuv Machine. 5. Sound Of The Underground. Hurrah for the gurls! And yes I will be doing the unbelievably huge Madonna poll before too long.

I think it speaks volumes for how good 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' is that it hasn't yet been completely ruined despite the best efforts of...lots of people. Especially those who play it in clubs! Weirdos, it's the last thing i want to hear in a club.

I didn't know JD had any other songs until a couple of years ago, I don't think I want to hear them.

What actually is the link between JD and NO? I know that some of the former were in the latter but I don't really know who's who (I only ticked Gillian because she's a girl, I didn't know NO had a girl in them until now!)

And were surprised when she could actually write catchy tunes also.

Gillian & Stephen = vvvvv rich people.

Hmm. I was about to say "it is odd that JD were so gloomy and then one of them killed himself and THEN the others lightened up" but it actually makes sense.

I knew the name Ian Curtis, I once read a v funny line about some bad indie band in which the writer said he wished the singer would pursue his Ian Curtis fixation to its logical conclusion, which I intend to plagiarise at some appropriate point in the future.

"Isolation" would sound awesome in a club. JD were more disco than you might think.

I'm not as hardline on it as The Judge, but LWTUA has been pretty much ruined for me now by sheer overplaying. Transmission, OTOH, I don't think I'll ever get bored wuth.
