I'd be the first to concede that ALW and his henchmen have been responsible for a great deal of wank. But they've also brought us some fantastic POP and this is what the Friday Canon is here to celebrate.

To get it down to something representative and manageable I have bent the strict Friday Canon rules a little, i.e. OUT goes "No Matter What" by Boyzone, IN comes "Superstar" and only one version per song is listed. BUT if you love a song and don't know the precise version given you may of course vote for it anyway.

my choice for BEST is a 60s girl pop song that sounds like half the songs from Evita. I sent it to an ILXor who said it sounded like Another Suitcase in Another Hall, which is the one song it sounds NOTHING like.
