SHINE TOO: NOW THEY'LL SLEEP

Shine Too, then! Not expecting the popularity of the first focused Shine, featuring not only indieism but GOTHISM in the form of Sheee-sheee-sheee-YEEENE ONNNN, a crack team of Addidas wearing 'yoof' was pulled together to create today's poll fodder in the form of Shine:2. Or, SHINE TOO, because, they were clever, do you see. Gigolo Aunts perhaps the first symptom of the Britpop drivetime tendency? I mean, guys. Like, SRSLY. Although, I think I liked it at the time. Young pups Ash get to mingle with their elders and betters whilst the retro factor is continued with The Div, as no-one ever calls Joy Division, and some old todgers qui s'appelle, Le Happy Mondays. ON WITH THE VOTING!

[Poll #700965]

I ticked well over half of this, OH DEAH. I spent 5 minutes (okay, only 15 seconds) going to and fro on Love Spreads. First ever single I bought, don'cha know.

I am v. glad to see Ash in the medals, though I suspect Pulp might do better if the titlehadn't been 'humourously' defaced.

Oh hang on, they are doing better now. Never mind.

Even the Pulp is a sodding B Side.

Ash = AWFUL. This was where they lost it, unless "Oh Yeah" was earlier.

NOPE. "Kung Fu" obviously their last good one (best sleeve too). The fact that their sudden and precipitous decline coincided with me leaving University is just one of those cosmic coinkydinks.

i carnt believe kung fu did so poorly in the charts.

see i like a life less ordinary, i realise i am in 1 x minority here...

alang, it was c. 3 months before britpop proper, OF COURSE it only got to 56, that's where all indie records went...

Lost what?! They never had anything! His voice was so grating.

You're not wrong about his voice. Only Danny MacNamara, from your fave raves Embrace, is worse.
