Thankyou to everyone who came! Good to see you all!

It was a qualified roaring success (most of the roaring being over the Arctic Monkeys knickers). The qualifier being that yes, I admit I pitched it a bit too hard*. If/when we do another we'll keep most of the fun rounds but the standard questions / bits and pieces etc. will be a lot easier. I think I was overestimating the degree of popnerdiness I was dealing with.

That said it's easier to adjust the difficulty level than it is to have interesting quiz ideas, and I think we had a lot of interesting ideas, so well done us.

A GRAPH will no doubt follow of the teams' progress through the hellish obstacle course that is recognising Thunderbugs intros and Dubstar album tracks.

Also the full horror of the family fortunes rounds will be posted later too.

*I've forgotten what was going to go under this asterisk.**

**Actualy I probably meant 'a lot too hard'.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-rotic#Singles = E-Rotic singles discography, MUST FIND ALL THESE TRACKS (or not, the one I do have - "Fred Come To Bed" - is appalling)

Astonishing that they stopped a word short with "Gimme Gimme Gimme (2000)"

I felt a bit bad for your workmates, who came last and were (quietly) abused by other teams during the Family Fortunes rounds ("What would people with crushingly middlebrow tastes think?").

On the other hand I got points "from them" by insisting that James Blunt fans think he has a good voice, so a) hooray for them and b) fvck em.

On the other other hand I tried to duplicate my success by insisting that they'd pick "drum machine" for the musical instruments round, which my team wisely ignored.

Also my free stuff impulse kicked in and I snaffled a copy of the free CD, only to realise that it's all Pop World Cup stuff, which I've got anyway. Does anyone want a copy of this great internationalist assembly of choons?

The only E-Rotic single you need is "Max, Don't Have Sex With Your Ex", but there's only one really good mix of it anyway. Any fule no David Brandes' best work is with Vanilla Ninja.

Yeah, it was terrific, and I would also like more of the same.

It is really hard to pitch questions right, and almost impossible first time out. This wasn't so far away from the right level. One of the difficulties is what seems easy to you (who could fail to recognise this Swedish pop intro?)(my version: surely EVERYONE knows the opening notes to Al Green's Love And Happiness, so that's too easy) isn't for everyone else, so it's not just a case of adjusting toughness but in knowing where the expertise lies. I for instance would do miles better with questions on soul, country, reggae, techno, drum & bass - but that was clearly never what last night was about (well, there were a couple of soul numbers in the '70s round).

I was expecting it to be way hard so I was quite pleased with my team's result! Next time I think there should be more questions about number ones, seeing as I was revising from your website there. But it was larks, thanks!

I hope the knickers said "Arctic Monkeys are pants" on them.
