I cocked up the Now 32 poll questions and put in some as radio buttons not ticky boxy, so I scrapped it and will do it tomorrow. Instead let's swap it with AN CANON.

Today's canon is lovely KYLIE, and you get TWELVE picks.

Haha you would have to be a level of all-forgiving Manics obsessive beyond REASON to make apologies for their Kylie collabo at this point!

Every single LJer should have these cats as their icon, but all just the tiniest bit out of sync with each other to produce MENTALISM IN THE EXTREME.

How did you make yours go out of sync? Did it involve complicated young people's technology (ie photoshop)?

I am pleased to see 'Especially Meta For You' doing so well.

Highpoint of Kylie's career = 'Love At First Sight' (song + video).

I have heard hardly any early Kylie, and I suspect that this is because they're not v memorable rather than my usual just-haven't-heard-it. She has a pop rep out of all proportion to the number of great songs she has, I mean compare this list to eg PSB or Madge and it PALES.

Your suspicion (re early Kylie) is way off the mark, Lex. She was as good then as ever.

the Fischerspooner remix of 'Come Into My World' is, like, the fifth best Kylie song!

I think it's the best!

Don't forget the Mayer mix of Slow!

From: [identity profile] alexmacpherson.livejournal.com
That is so hot! Especially mixed into 'Lovefood'.

There's a really really good Chemical Brothers rmx of 'Slow' too (of all people), essentially the last good thing they did (and approx 7 yrs after the last good thing they did before that)

I have kind of gone off the Slow remix after caning it too hard last year. I bet it still sounds ace played out tho.

I half expected her to turn up at the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony like she did for Sydney - but it was c0cking Delta Goodrem instead. BLERUGH.

Gawd 'Did It Again' is totally underrated and under-appreciated!

My vote for Come Into My World is at least 80% for the Fischerspooner rmx, which is easily the best thing either party has ever been involved in.

I think I'd have made it to 12 if they'd been in. My findings are much the same as the Lex: she's done a lot with a few cracking singles and a lot of generic stuff. On the other hand, 37 hits is an achievement in itself.

I'm (ahem) "Shocked" by the power lack of love for
(a) Word Is Out
(b) Chocolate

"Chocolate" is surely damaged by that god-awful single mix of it.

"Spinning Around" was co-written by Kara DioGuardi, who, as loyal readers of ilX will know, also co-wrote "Fly" and "La La" and "Hear Me" and "Rich Girl" and several score more hit faves.

Two things: "Love At First Sight" is being robbed. That song is like aural ecstacy (not like the drug, just the general feeling) and every time I hear it I am not sure if I am dying or if I'm in love. Magnificent, one of the best pop singles ever, EVER.

Also: Shame it's only her UK singles, because this skips the deliriously wonderful "Turn It Into Love", the best early Kylie song EVER, but only a single in Japan, I think.
