Now 31 takes us to the (current) halfway point! in the Now polls, and finds Britpop in 'full swing', backed up with a host of fondly and less fondly remembered tracks. DJ Daz should take note of Love City Groove, unfortunate pioneers in the 'put some rap in Eurovision' category. Reeves and Mortimer cover the Monkees, Duran Duran cover the Furious Five, Shaggy tackles Mungo Jerry, Baby D take on the Korgis and Ladysmith Black Mambazo surely fulfil a lifetime ambition by getting to work with China Black.

You'll also get to vote in the Now 30 face-off - Portishead and Massive Attack share the spoils with East 17's "Stay Another Day" a mere two votes behind. Bucketheads in 4th, Boos in 5th, much hatred for the Gallaghers and Mr J Nail, and some bafflement as to what 'handbag house' actually is, that said if you were to make a compilation of the suggestions it would be TOTALLY GREBT as I will prove soon.

The choice between Shampoo and Kylie turned out to be no choice at all - "Trouble" by a mile. I'm expecting a clear winner in this poll, though.

You would not believe how long I spent on slsk, back when I had it, trying to get both the original and the spitcher rmx - and I failed! Please please please burn them for me if you can!

I have the S'pitcher, but not the original. The remix sounds exactly like you would expect ie Ms Martin getting her torch on over a more propulsive version of a S'pitcher album track. Microgothemo heaven.

Can you download from gmail at the moment?

it's in the big '05 mix i gave you a copy of, on disc 3 although it is buried amid GFrapp and Lifelike and the whole thing does get a bit muddled

Yes I noticed and was looking forward to hearing it but in the event couldn't actually tell which bit it was.
