I'm guessing they were talking about a different Ted Heath in the 50s.

I mean this Ted Heath (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Heath_%28bandleader%29) as opposed to this Ted Heath (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Heath).

Haha, it was a guess until I Wikipedia-ed. Although now you mention it, I seem to remember something about PMTH having music skeelz as well.

*googles*

He conducted orchestras.

marc bolan was in john's children!

DADMAS has me stumped! (google points us towards a bunch of french biochemical acronyms and a blogger whose dad calls his birthday "dadmas") -- I can't think what Micky Dolenz and Spencer Daviscould have had in common!

but jeremy pascall went on to write "god -- the ultimate biography"

marc bolan was only in the JCs for six months -- during 1967 -- but even w/o him they were controversial: they did nudie publicity shots and wild shows, and their single had the words "lift up your skirts and fly" so the beeb didn't play it

i did see john's children at the monarch about 7 years ago. they'd gone a bit fiddly-diddly (unsure as to how many original (non-marc) members were left), but most importantly, GOT THEIR (teenage) KIDS ON STAGE to sing/play along, JOHN'S GRANDCHILDREN!!!

fiddly-diddly as in celtic pub-folk or fiddly-diddly as in prog?

they toured australia with WHO, if i remember my bolan biog correctly, and allegedly it was THEY who started the smashing hotel rooms etc stuff (at the instigation of SNB almost certainly) rather than moon and the boys.

DADMAS = Dadaismus's dad, clearly an important figure in pop in the '60s.

It is nice to see my college coming in useful. I'm glad I founded it now.

hehe, that is an ace website.

i imagine that there were letters along the lines of:

Dear Sir

Why not change your name to the New Monkees Express and be done with it!

yours
