Further World Cup shenanigans bring us Now 22 a day early, but the decision had been made anyway - a comfortable win for "Justified And Ancient" on Now 21, with "America: What Time Is Love" in second place, and Opus III and Shakespear's Sister trailing slightly behind. The question of which bit of Bohemian Rhapsody is best exercised you more, with some addlepates opting for witty variations on 'none of it', and other opinion falling about evenly between "Scaramouche! Scaramouche!" and the Waynes World bit.

Harder choices perhaps on this volume, with - unlike Now 21 - a lot of genuinely enormous and/or well-remembered hits. And - drum roll - the one and only appearance of CARTER USM in a Now poll. The compilers have adopted an eclectic strategy of breaking up the genre hits a bit, hence you get Nick Berry next to Snap. No UB40, no Phil, a first appearance for The That, but double Elton.

[Poll #669080]

EDIT: The En Vogue track is properly called "My Loving (Never Gonna Get It)", just in case that influences yr votes.

FIIL is just too twee for my liking. I think it's a really well made/written/produced song though - just not really my cup o' bovril chief

the lyric "it's such a wonderful sight to see you eat in the middle of the night' is good.

I think there's a ridiculous lyrics thing going here - 'I'm as serious as cancer' has achieved some sort of totemic status over the years.

It is called 'My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)' and I demand that the title is EDITED so as to prevent further confusion

the best BNH track is 'Spend SOme Time' which is effectively disco-funk rather than acid-jazz. whew.

i was a big fan of Jamiroquai initially, bought the first album on casette.

That song is overly cutesy Sanrio Goth.

I am in complete agreement. If I had the chance again I might vote for it as the best instead of En Vogue, but it's tough deciding between the two.

Oh aye. I suppose that probably is 'any good at all', but it's nowhere near their finest hour.

RIAD is something everyone remembers - it was the biggest selling single of 1992 all over Europe.

my favourite is probably still 'dream come true' or 'dream on dreamer' - when I saw n'dea davenport on totp aged 9 i thought she was the coolest woman in the world.
