Morning poptimists! The Brit Award nominations are out and as usual there's plenty of dreck involved. But is there any wheat to this chaff?

I have purposely left off the 'DON'T LIKE ANY' option to FORCE you to pick someone. Choose wisely!

[Poll #1810454]
For those interested, Blur are getting the Lifetime Whatsit and Emeli Sandé has got the Critic's Choice Nonsense Award.

Aw, I adore the Foo Fighters but they are a daft nomination!

I have chosen to abstain on Breakthrough Artist due to religious principles regarding the existence of the Vaccines.

I could not comment on several due to either not knowing any of them or hating them all. Why does Jessie J exist again? (In the music industry, I have no problem with her working as an admin or someting.)

Oops! Didn't mean to reply to you there per se, but FWIW I totally voted for the Foo Fighters too and always would because of "Monkey Wrench".

This is the best review of Jessie J ever written.

I have voted for The Vaccines because I heard one of their songs in the pub yesterday and thought it was all right. This may be the way that this entire list of nominations was put together.

I have BIG PROBLEMS with the One Direction but will save my commentary for my top 40 project (just gotta get through Avicii and the Lloyd first)

bit fey, but what you're REALLY looking for is the Butch Clancy remix of Pumped Up Kicks. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49n7jgBplYc)

*coff* I like the Vaccines! Every song on the album sounds the same. It's very safe young person's indie. I know I'm in the minority here. They might even end up on my top ten albums of 2011! Sad but true.

Where is Best International Album?
How are we supposed to take these awards consistently when there is no consistency? Although having said that, they used to have Best Pop/ Best Urban, etc. so I guess they never were.
