Lex 20p Indie Prize 2009: PANIC

Hello everyone, I am an idiot and can't remember what month it is. It is time, just about, to vote for the winnar of the Lex 20p Indie Prize; a song by the winning act will then be played at Poptimism tonight because I will go out and buy their CD on my way in order to do so and to cover for my modfail...

In light of which, you have until about 4pm UK time today to VOTE. So get voting! Feel free to rep in the comments etc.

EDIT: RIGHT THEN. It's two minutes past four, I'm clocking off and going to HMV. What will I buy? Well you'll have to jolly well come to Poptimism and find out, won't you?

I don't particularly want to hear La Roux at Poptimism but I cannot deny they are the true winners here. I can always make that my strategic going-to-the-bar point.

OK i forgot to vote for lung rotter and seven even though no one else has heard of them let alone heard them they are an experimental offshoot of the horrors: this is doubtless for the good as i bet their 7" is v.hard to find

La Roux is the honest answer but I find I can't act to inflict her voice on a potentially unwilling human audience XD; (NB: I have SEEN HER LIVE and it was weirdly much better than on record, I think because the sound was bad and her shrillness was drowned in the mix. The dodgy argument re audiences these days preferring artists that sound best in shoddy mp3 may actually apply for once.)

I would normally be inclined to vote for the act Lex hates the most, but given that I hate La Roux as much as and for the same reasons as he does, I cannot bring myself to do so.

It clearly needs to be La Roux - I'm clearly too late in the day for this, but I'd suggest playing "Tigerlilly" as it's the best song on a very poor album. However, re-mixes are a much better idea!

I just got a Mastodon album out of the library so I can try to figure out the hype. it feels like a bit of a failing not to have done so before, but there you go.

OK I totally missed this poll when it was technically open, but I'm glad FAT M appear to be getting the 20p (if I've read Hazel's more recent post correctly) and that my late vote makes (some) sense of that decision.
