Yet Another Week In Pop: 18
A day late thanks to the Bank Holiday (and my poor memory), but not much has changed - Tinchy is still at Number 1.

Miley - I don't think I get this o_0
Demi - ♥ ♥ I love how jaunty and alive she sounds
Maccabees - *ignore request* *block user*
Alesha - the word "excited" isn't very, er, exciting, is it? Certainly not enough to base an entire chorus around it. God, she should be so much better than this! The entire arrangement seems afraid to commit to any style whatsoever. Alesha, listen to me: UK FUNKY. DO IT.

Miley Cyrus "Hoedown Throwdown": Would make way more sense to put Chipmunk on this track, since what we've got is a catchy chant but little melody or power beyond that. Chipmunk could have given it force, a center. BORDERLINE TICK DEE-TICK DEE-TICK.
Demi Lovato "La La Land": Sounds committedly passionate and hilariously exuberant at the same time, the latter not undercutting the former in the least. TICK TICK LAND.
Maccabees "Love You Better": This sounds like someone took scissors and an electric fan to a U2 track to make it fragmented and wavering. The approach has promise, but it needs a better song, and the singer's quaver needs more feeling. NONTICK.
Alesha Dixon "Let's Get Excited": Punchy but not particularly inspired. Would work OK on the dance floor, but I'm not on the dance floor. Makes me weary of the genre to listen to this, to tell you the truth. (The genre being popped-up Brit r&b?) NO TICK.
