A quick clarification on the matters of the La Roux single through the medium of nonvids.

So, if you've only just been looking up stuff because it's shown up in this week's singles, you'll probably find that La Roux's In For The Kill sounds like this:

This is the official release. And it's bouncy and frankly, not very good. But!

But, but, but.

This is the Skream remix:

which is, obviously, a million miles better. Needless to say, the Youtube version doesn't quite have the bass of the actual release. But you get the drift. Apart from being about four minutes too short, and clearly needing a full 12" mix, it's so much better it really isn't funny. Even the radio stations play the Skream version from time to time.

So: just to clarify, you know.

I did a remix by playing them both together!

Blimey, you're not kidding! The meatiness of that bass kinda suits her screeching really well. Shame about the weak beats at the end though, they are a bit tacked-on aren't they?

I agree that the remix suits her voice better but it's STILL too shrill and grating - never mind an extended version, I want a dub version. And she's just so unbearable that everything she touches turns to shit.

It's really been played on daytime radio? I'm surprised - it's the superior version of a TERRIBLE song but it's not as if Skream's own tracks have much of a history of radio play.

God, even looking at that stupid posey self-conscious blank expression on her face in the Youtube stills pisses me off. What a loser she is.

On Radio 1, apparently yes. Annie Mac was talking about this on Switch last night. They played a cut down version of the remix. It was OK, I put it no stronger than that.

Some of Skream's own tracks for people to check out

OH GOD, EVEN THAT SKREAM REMIX CANNOT SAVE HER.

It only really serves to highlight the off-KEY-ness of her bloody vocals.

I mean, for gods sake. Couldn't they even afford an autotune? I'm not usually one for the 'choon, but that was just... it HURT MINE EARS.

I really don't like this. :-(

Thing is, having now listened to about 30 seconds of the original (I only lasted 2 minutes into the remix) - you know, I *like* the backing track - until she turns up and starts yowling.

What is the POINT of this women, seriously?

Also, do a GIS for her. And then look at the same blank, unsmiling expression she wears self-consciously in every photo as if that is the same thing as possessing artistic mystique. Don't you just want to slap her? UGHHHH worst pop star ever, even Lady Gaga is not this annoying b/c even if her quotes are dumb, her music is just boring rather than unlistenable.
