HI yes I am still procrastinating over awful transcription. Here is the video for Jazmine Sullivan's excellent revenge waltz 'Bust Your Windows', in which she smashes up her boyfriend's flat when she discovers he's been cheating. OR DOES SHE???

"I bust the windows out your car / And no, it didn't mend my broken heart" remains the finest opening lyric to any album this year.

Great video - I love the bits where the action pauses and goes all posterised.

Not sure about the song, like the tuba and can't fault Jazmine's voice but it needs a chorus?

I quite like the cyclical structure - it reinforces the feeling that the narrator keeps returning to scratch this emotional wound, unable to get away from it, and the repeated hook is satisfying enough that it doesn't get wearing sonically for me. I guess the "I must admit it helped a little bit" section is the closest to a chorus, though the verse/chorus structure doesn't really apply to the song, it's more like repeated stanzas.

She specifies in the first verse! "I bust the windows out your car / After I saw you laying next to her." Anf then in the chorus: "You see you just can't play with people's feelings, tell them you love them and don't mean it."

Ah, I must have missed the verse. The chorus could be anything, a break-up, an affair, the laundry being left out for two days (which is why I loved it (but I still love it)).

Actually, proper clockwork watches probably aren't generally waterproof, but I'm assuming that the really high-end ones should be?

Love the song, love the album, very much like the video. The stylized freeze-frame is a nice touch, as is the reverse unbreaking of everything.
