I find myself unable to locate a copy of the Crazy Frog so unless I sneak a Wizzo in next week this is the last of the year.

The new official Best Pop In The World is "Be Mine!" by Robyn - Girls Aloud's score dropped to 7.15 so Robyn's 7.6 wins it. Wizzo round 5 pits the Swedish (she is Swedish, isn't she) tweestrel against indie-or-are-they elecrobangers Ladytron. Whoever wins will either go up against the Frog or will turn up again in the new year when perhaps - GARSP - some new songs may have been released.

Robyn - "Be Mine!"
Ladytron - "Destroy Everything You Touch"

[Poll #634917]

In other pop news, I have downloaded all the EUROBEAT put up by Cis at the weekend - awesome stuff, I am thrilled by the boshing version of "Saturday Night" but the unfamiliar stuff sounds great too. More on this when I've absorbed it a bit.

I also downloaded a few randoms the other night and fell in love again with "Follow Me" by Amanda Lear, which I knew off a hi-NRG compilation, where it was pleasingly incongruous. My imagination is sluggish today so again, I'll write more when I YSI it soon.

I keep thinking of new Orgafun features for this community and having to stop myself. I guess this is positive (the thinking and the stopping).

i don't quite see the point of pitting one of these songs against the Frog. just for laffs? or is there a genuine belief that the latter will confound critics with a song that is actually spectacular as opposed to merely fun-i-suppose?

but then agane i am teh Scrooge Incarnate.

I'm fighting a losing battle with my insistence that Ladytron are in fact now a rather fabulous pop group on the current elpee. They are not on an indie label, and their music is no longer teh indie either. SIGH.

i would vote for the frog over either of these! (i am tired of That Woman and this reminder that she has made a great song once, and as for ladytron, they're not actively bad indie, but i think now irrelevant bands who once made a great song and three years on continue to trade of it are even more annoying, haha that'd be robyn next year then)
