Getting around to part of my backlog! Some or all of these may be familiar, but they haven't (to my ayip polls-based recollection) charted in the UK, at least:

#1: So M. Pokora's international breakthrough Dangerous was the first big Timbahit of recent years that left me completely cold -- but I LOVE the follow-up:

The non-Timbo producers amusingly enough manage to hit something of an '06-era Timbo vibe -- it's kinda like a slightly less playful Promiscuous. The interplay btw the vocalists is awesome, either way.

#2. I know "Wyclef Jean" is a bit of a bad word around these parts, but this Wyclef/Akon/Lil' Wayne venture from spring just makes me happy everytime I hear it:

That chorus = 1xSRS WINNER. I've become quite fond of Akon over the last year or so, really (something I would never have believed around the time of Mr. Lonely, haha), and this only gives me yet more reason. <3

#3. This one goes in without commentary, beyond a 'how awesome has it been to have omg Three 6 Mafia all over Finnish airwaves?' (okay, so Stay Fly was An Hit here, as well, but generally they're not exactly a big name here)

---

In closing and off the main topic, as a random point of curiosity: it's amazing how much angstrock ballads sound like boyband songs theseadays, really. :D

Wiki lists the producers of "They Talk Shit About Me" as Pete Martin and M. Kool L. Production reminds me of Ryan Leslie, the way the singers go for a nonchalant presence. Works pretty well. (Interestingly, Leslie didn't produce this but did produce another track on the album.)
