That is nice! As koganbot says, doesn't come off too self-consciously 'conscious' or anything - just poppy and fun. Be interesting to hear what else they can do.

Haha, everyone's been pinglewooding it up since stevem posted the Santogold. As have I! Greatest discovery since last time I looked = VEIN AND PITBULL'S 'GET UP STAND UP', like whoa. Love the Zombie Zombie too, I saw them live a while back and enjoyed them; Krautrock is completely unexplored territory for me but I'm guessing I'll enjoy it when I eventually take the plunge (unless proper Krautrock has bad vocals or something). Also Tom did you get that crunk track which samples Robert Miles? I put it up on my lj like MONTHS ago and everyone's only just getting round to discovering it (apparently because of that southern banger which samples Alice Deejay and is actually not as good at all).

On the one hand I'm happy to have found an MP3 blog which is so close to my tastes (in modern stuff anyway), on the other it's a bit embarrassing to like SO much of it. I hadn't heard "Wearing My Rolex" before pinglewood either and I'm now obsessed with it.

I dunno if that Zombie Zombie thing is 'krautrock' per se though - it reminded me of the Kavinsky track in the Pop Open, except longer and better and better-structured, so maybe actually it was just the word "zombie".

Some proper krautrock has bad vocals, lots doesn't though.

it's called 'Rollin' by Hood Headlinaz. for hipster cred purposes here is proof (http://alexmacpherson.livejournal.com/178065.html) that I was a YEAR ahead of the curve (by a few hours).

'Wearing My Rolex' is INCREDIBLE yes! Was quite glad to grab a clean mp3 there, I've only had the radio rip for a while (hence not talking about it) - there's another new Wiley track which I only have as a shitty radio rip which I think might be even better going 'I'm Going Out'. Electro-grime! Did you ever hear 'Dance 4 Now' by Tinchy Stryder last year? Oh yeah 'Wearing My Rolex' is going to get a massive promo push - I think it'll be a proper big hit, though maybe I only think this cuz he shares a PR with Estelle and look where that got her (NUMBER ONE, BABY! was so excited on sunday).

whenever I go to pinglewood I'm always glad to see, and skip, the more reprehensible indie-hipster stuff, even if the majority of it is awesome. it's far stronger on hip-hop than dance (cuz of their unfortunate penchant for blog house).
