i think EC was their second bite of the cherry -- their first was off at the edges of belgian nu-beat, which is where i came across em (at the end of the crimean war)
still, full marks for them being doughtily persistent when so lame!
I have never been in a moshpit! (Though I have SEEN them, and I have no idea why anyone would...DO THAT to themselves.)
CHAs vary. There aren't always free drinks but there is usually a lot more space. Having guaranteed access to the VIP balcony at Fabric is a huge reason I tolerate the place.
(I guess CHAs aren't necessarily the same as VIP areas though!)
i am thinking of the "chicks & speed: futurism" EP by lead into gold, who are an offshoot of ministry (so nothing much to do w.belgian nu-beat) (except for RUBBISH IS RUBBISH IS RUBBISH)
There is absolutely no way in which I could be considered to have "not sold out" so I can't, in conscience, choose the moshpit (of which I was not a great fan at my most punk i.e. 15.)
Obviously I have nothing against The Man but I consider his opinions on music generally suspect and if I was in the CHA I would worry he might tell me some of them.
pogo in yr bedroom! (but only when yr mum's gone out!)
That's an excellent point; after the exchange of opinions on music, he'd actually want you to develop a metric with which to measure the level of mosh ("engagement").
"F. Lil' Wayne" versus "v. Lil' Wayne" is kind of a no-brainer, right? (And as far as I can tell there weren't any other options for "f. _____" last year, so there ya go!)
Damn, I get beauty all the time, but how often do you get some TRUTH?? Beauty's dime a dozen -- I mean my CATS are beautiful and they're really stupid!

Re: Corporate Hospitality Areas vs Moshpit
There are trade offs:
Moshpit: physical discomfort vs closeness to action
CHA: free drinks vs far away, in company of The Man.
Re: Corporate Hospitality Areas vs Moshpit
The Man >>>>> The People (in moshpits)
