poptimists | OLD Orgafun Status Update (Reply)

Now Kat has launched the amazing NEW orgafun here's a quick update on the status of OLD Poptimists orgafun.

POP OPEN: This will conclude at a brisk pace when I get home internet access (current due date, 29/01 but this has already moved back twice.) A 3rd round fight is still open - expect reminders, reviews and reveals on that before the next one starts. (If I haven't got the remaining 3rd round tracks by the 29th then I will annul those fights.)

LEAGUE OF POP: The new season of the LoP will either be in the Spring or Autumn depending on other factors.

POP WORLD CUP: It is the Euro 2008 foopball tournament this year so in theory we could do a Pop World Cup style orgafun. I have no great enthusiasm for organising this personally - if someone else wants to do it, they have my blessing. If there is a huge clamour for it, I will.

NOW POLLS: For completism's sake I will do #s 66-68 at some point when I'm really procrastinating at work (i.e. even more than now). I was going to do a Pazz And Jop style Idolator poll too but I'm sick of 2007 really!

ANOTHER YEAR IN POP: Business as usual. Do please vote, won't you?

NUMBER ONES POLLS: We really can't have many of these left! I am happy to run them if Kat can't be arsed.

CANONS: Artist canons are taking a temporary rest. Special canons will no doubt resurface from time to time.

JUDGE POP: Eagerly awaiting new cases in 08.

VIDEO CLUB: Open to all comers!

WINNER STAYS ON: A blast from the past! Won't be resurrected but once I get home access again I am thinking of doing some kind of daily-MP3-plus-scale-rating orgafun as a way of stimulating talk about stuff not covered by the year in pop or video club features (i.e. older, or foreign, or odder stuff)

ANY OTHER BUSINESS? Can't think of anything I've forgotten but who knows!
