It's Thursday, it's 2'o'clock, it's time for the Now poll. The series reaches surely its lowest ebb with Now 6, and evidence of penny-pinching abounds with minor hits and follow-ups all over the shop. Luckily those old faithfuls UB40 and Phil are around to 'steady the ship'. Did they ever team up? It seems inconceivable that they didn't and yet I can't remember - or my brain won't let me.

It has to be admitted that the 'bookies' have a clear favourite this time, but then the bookies certainly wouldn't have tipped Katrina and The Waves to beat out the competition on Now 5. Jimmy Nail seems to have attracted most of the DAILY HATE.

In answer to El Brane - Like Cotton Eyed Joe I do not know exactly where Gary Moore came from or where he did go but I do remember "Empty Rooms" as an awful bit of rock chest-beating about a Man discovering his Woman has left him. So it's one of the worst (in a pretty crowded field).

I think my enthusiasm for Nikita would probably wither if I heard it again - being 12 when it came out and starting to think about romance and politics and being cynical and Nikita pressed all three of those buttons (i.e. I was quite cross at myself for being moved by it and so mocked it a lot).
