I was out-of-town, so I didn't have a chance to really listen to this set. I didn't realize [livejournal.com profile] justfanoe had submitted Tom Petty - I had considered using "Breakdown" as my pick for the '70s round (though it appears here that I would have fared even worse than I did).

The Tom Petty song was my favorite of the four, but I had heard it before.

It's easy for me to assume Berlin were huge globally.. and they did become big all over the U.S. with "Take My Breath Away", but the more tinny synth stuff from prior years was only well known, I think, in the West Coast, or maybe just California, or maybe just L.A.!
