As usual, these will be dripfed across the afternoon. Again, fiendishly close. Turnout inched up again - 27 voters this time.

First Place - Ms Dynamite - "Don't Stop" - 8 first place votes, 28% of total points. alexmacpherson wins and chooses the Noughties group in Round 2.

Second Place - Derrick Harriott - "Black Skinned Blue Eyed Boys" - 8 first place votes, 25% of total points. hauntedballroom qualifies and is put into Fifties And Before in Round 2.

Third Place - Siobhan Donaghy - "12 Bar Acid Blues" - 3 first place votes, 17% of total points. lockedintheatti qualifies and is put into the Nineties group in Round 2.

Fourth Place - Luke Haines - "Off My Rocker At The Art School Bop" - 5 first place votes, 16% of total points. celentari is OUT.

Fifth Place - Kirsty MacColl - "Wrong Again" - 3 first place votes, 14% of total points. ruudboy is OUT.

As winner, alexmacpherson can choose which second-round group he goes into - Noughties, Nineties, Eighties, Seventies, Sixties or Fifties and Before. He also gets to choose where the third-placed contestant (lockedintheatti) ends up.

Oh wow, hurrah! Didn't know what to expect, a few people seemed to love my track but a few (MENTALISTS!) were also vocal in their hate of it. And my competition was strong too - this was the first week that I've kept all five tracks.

Very very bad luck for celentari - a good haul of first-place votes but then only 2 second place votes, overtaken by the Siobhan who got seven 2nd placers.

Cheers, I'm quite happy with nineties (although I had a killer track lined up for the noughties if I'd got that, hopefully if I make it through it might fit a theme for a later round). That was a pretty close shave there, looks like I was saved by fewer people knowing mine that Luke Haines.
