I've loved everything I've heard from the Modern up till now. Their live shows (with compere and 'gimp'), the snippets of their music on the website, and most of all last year's download-only single "Suburban Culture". This though... Well, I agree with 18 of their 20 I think. And the main thing they're reacting against [though you wouldnt know it from this list] is the Razorlights and Babyshambleses of this world (the London cool/hyped bands entries maybe?), the NME and the stupid bands they champion, the unimaginativeness of it all. What ever the hell they mean by that 'post-1996 pop' entry though, God knows...
