Somewhat of an end-of-term feel to these selections, although maybe that's just my sentimental side showing.

Anyway, that is it for the main body of the League Of Pop. TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOUR tracks submitted and processed in 12 weeks, and only four failures to submit (two covered by me, so that's 262 tracks). Not bad AT ALL.

Enormous thanks to everyone who took part: it's been a lot of fun.

And it's not (quite) over yet: we still have the play-offs to deal with, when the top 3 people in each league compete for the overall League Of Pop WINNAR title. Here's how it works.

The people in 2nd and 3rd place in each league have to submit a track for the person who was RELEGATED in the other league. The relegated player picks one of the two tracks (which will be anonymised): if they already know one they have to pick the other one (even if it's shite). If they already know BOTH then I pick.

The winners of those play the champions from the other league in a vote polled by the whole Poptimists community. And the winners of those two games play each other for the title.

I'm going to try and get these votes done pretty quickly and will email players involved when the results come in this week.

In a landmark day for Poptimists orgafun, I've also written down the Pop Open rules and will probably post them later.

End of term? Time to sing 'Dolce Domum' then...

Hurrah for orgafun!!

I was checking my LoP collection, and apart from the rubbish wma files, I am missing the piratemoggy and zenith comps. Does anyone still have the zip files for these?

Is it too difficult for me to ask if you can upload a zip file containing the tracks that were awarded 1st place in each division each week - two zip files, each containing 12 tracks - the 12 Pop Prem weekly winners and the 12 Chart Champ weekly winners? I suspect that those would make a couple of incredibly interesting and varied mix CDs! If it's too much trouble, don't worry about it.

Just been startled by [livejournal.com profile] fugitivemotel's first track. An old friend! Now, that's enough spoilers.

Am I correct in assuming that voters who know a track have to vote for the other one - so that players need to find tracks that almost no one knows?

Blimey, you ain't kidding. Still, given fugitivemotel's list of 5 favourite bands this is no great surprise.

I suspect the non-indie tracks would be my winners by default, although possibly the nindiest one of the lot (track 8) is a track I know and like. I know who submitted this as well: we have discussed the artist on LJ.
