Inevitably really given the threads on him this week but here's a canon devoted to the Duke of Daffodils, Mozzer. Consistent wit or precipitous decline - YOU DECIDE with fifteen ticks covering his Smiths and solo work.

Though actually Nancy Sinatra's version of 'Let me kiss you' is much better.

this is impossible. with these things i usually go down and tick all the "are ok/great" and then force a few more or less. this time i'll have to untick half!

Hmm. I felt an interesting twinge of very non-Poptimists guilt for putting Girlfriend In A Coma as my favourite. Its like because its Morrissey/Smiths, I feel I have to make a more "credible" less greatest hits choice. But that is bollocks.

Ooh, also, did anyone see him at Benicassim this year? He was mildly offensive to Spanish people: "I bet I can guess all your names. [points] You're called Juan. You're called Juan. And you. Juan, Juan, Juan, Juan. Juan."

However, he did make a nice almost self-deprecating reference to the fact that he was supposed to perform last year and pulled out at the last minute: "I'd just like to say, thanks for showing up." Said with actual humility if you can imagine it.

The Smiths/Solo line is drawn between "There is a Light" and "Suedehead", yes?

Michael Jackson, Ian Curtis, Freddie from Freddy and the Dreamers... does the shoulder-flirt windwill flower wave qualify?

What have you people got against thorns?

Very, very surprised that this is only at 50%.

He really should have retired with this one, I don't think I've really enjoyed anything he's done after this.

We could only pick 15! This is really sad but I probably could have picked 25.

Even though he hasn't been great for a long time I find myself getting weirdly defensive about him and I worry about still being one of those pathetic Morrissey fans.

I gave up very early when I realised that many of my Smiths faves and the few solo Morrisey singles that I like are usually B-Sides.

Yes, BIGMOUTH and WILLIAM are favourites of mine (being a Billy McKenzie fan an' all) but I want GIRL AFRAID, I want BACK TO THE OLD HOUSE, I want YES I AM BLIND too

Does a necessary fifteen choices secure some kind of guaranteed showing for intermediate cuts out of ennui?

I have so totally gone off this now, but it deserves a tick - if it weren't for Panic I would never have met ANY of the interweb as we know and wub it... :-)
