Even though the glorious poptimist army keeps marching on (128 members!) we've had the same nonsense up on our front page for ages. This is partly because the last time we did this poll the results were so rub! Can we do better this time?

THE RESULTS:

Poptimism is...back! Back!! BACK!!!
Poptimism is...a swab for sore ears
Poptimism is...liking "Come On Eileen" more than "Geno"
Poptimism is...Shakira Shakira!
Poptimism is...small and furry
Poptimism is...refusing to go to rehab
Poptimism is...going "so THAT'S where that sample comes from!"
Poptimism is...hoku not haiku
Poptimism is...The Bulawayo Sweet Rhythms Band, "Skokiaan"
Poptimism is...bringing sexy back.

NB - liking Come On Eileen is good but I can't say I like it more or less than Geno so I do not STAND BY this one!

It was well weird listening to the Radio 2 funk show last night when the pirate station I was tuned into suddenly switched off freeing up the band! They played loads of 70s stuff which had been sampled by 80s electro pioneers which were then squished around by Vanilla Ice & co and then jumped on by late 90s/early 00s hiphopsters until the whole thing has been recycled more times than new newspapers!

Oh, FINE...you talked me into it...

"The Burrito Song" is wonderful, and smart. "Perfect Day" and "Another Dumb Blonde" are no slouches either. Her music had a light airy feel, so she kind of got lost between sex-babe Britney and the rock-confessional teens who followed (as did Vitamin C and M2M). I can't tell from the Webpage whether she does weddings or merely had one. And I hadn't previously known she was a Ho. (Oh God! The poor kid! Can you imagine how often she's had to hear that crack?)
