Miss Kittin is one of those artists whose schtick should surely have got old and boring a long time ago; when she first emerged in the Golden Age of Electroclash it seemed as though the point of Kittin was her shallow transience, not any kind of extended shelflife. But she turned out to be a key figure in steering electroclash towards electrohouse when the former burnt out, and her new album Batbox proves that deadpan, monotone, French-accented fashionista ennui will never get old. It's a sleek, immaculate, chrome-plated thing which I've returned to more than I would have ever expected, and I love it. This is the lead single 'Kittin Is High'.
And let's have a classic Kittin cut from back in the day too - 'Rippin Kittin' is one of my favourite tracks EVER.
