POPTIMISM CANCELLED

Just got this on email:

"Tomorrow night is cancelled at the Union Tavern. Basically they have been granted a permanent late licence, but with that came a whole raft of health & safety adjustments and soundproofing (above and beyond what they were putting in). So they are doing that now, but it won’t be finished for another week or so. Then it has to be signed off by the council. Therefore tomorrow is a no can do."

Sorry everyone! We will be back soon I'm sure! on June 1st hurrah

If you want to see all your Poptimism chums, some of them "virtually DJing" with the aid of a "juke box", come to the PAKENHAM ARMS instead. (It's the pub just up the road from the Union Tav that we end up in after the club anyway.)

Where is the love?

So we're all resigned to a bit of a slump in pop and teenpop, but... am I imagining it, or is everyone getting spikey about music in general? I know "I Love Music" has rarely lived up to its name in the last 5 years, but it does feel like a lot of stuff (new stuff) is getting ACTIVE dislike more than seems usual (or healthy, to me).

Is this because things are "on the move" and people are trying harder to be "taste makers"?

Or perhaps I am just imagining it, and no explanation is needed.

Settle my mind, or solve my conundrum.

You'll need to send in 3 songs, roughly one a month between mid-June and mid-September (but you can send them in earlier if yr on holiday) then if you do well another 1-4 during Sept-Oct.
