It's The Poptimists Readers Poll 2006!

Naturally, at the home of the LJ pop poll, we will be running a 2006 readers poll. Here is how it will work:
1. You fill in your nominations in the boxes below. Doesn't have to be your absolute final favourite thing (which someone else will probably nominate) (OR WILL THEY), just something you think should be on the ballot.
2. The erm Poptimists Academy Members winnow down the nominations into a ballot using a sekrit system known only to them. And by "them" I mean "me" though I might well involve notable regulars in the process for categories I am too much of a grandad to really understand (like this newfangled "video" thing).
3. In a highly argumentative series of polls we vote on one category a day to decide the OFFICIAL POLL WINNERS which will get posted on the front page, it not having been updated for an aeon. (If you are not on the Interweb between the Xmas and New Year period you can beam your votes for those polls across the gulf of space by brain power alone, or you can miss out.)
( The flame of democracy must not gutter out )
Watch out tomorrow for the first of these polls. Ho yuss.

After an enforced absence, the History of Jop polls enter their final lap, reaching 2003. IT'LL ALL BE OVER BY CHRISTMAS! to coin a phrase. You get THIRTEEN ticks across thirty-nine singles: the Rapture were on last poll as well, the greedy beasts, so we leave them off this.
( Jay-Z on the range, crazy and deranged )
