This quarter-final sees England come up against Portugal, the team who dumped them out of Europop 2004 at this same stage. Nelly Furtado ft Timbaland - "Promiscuous Girl": Forthright gaffer thebopkids told us "It’s certainly difficult when you star performer isn’t available for selection. We had her in the squad, sure, but it wasn’t at all clear that she’d be fit for any part of this competition. We’ve had to experiment with varying styles in a bid to compensate for her absence, but we really think that Nelly, on top form, has the skills to turn any match around.

Born in Canada to Portuguese parents, Nelly has not always been the most consistent performer, but when she’s on her game she’s a match for anyone. She seems to be hitting top form more and more in recent seasons: it may be that she is responding to some of the intensive training techniques of her new American coaches.

And this song’s an example: it’s a dominating, box-to-box performance. Energy levels are high, and there are plenty of crunching tackles, but it’s not without the subtle touches which can bamboozle defenders. She’s got it all, really: she’ll hold the play up when it’s necessary, she’ll flick on the killer pass for Tim, and she’ll pop up, when you least expect her, to smash it home. Get in."

This is an CLASH OF THE TITANS. I've been loving Faster Kill Pussycat recently, it's like a lost Basement Jaxx track.

I'm voting for England for the following reasons:

a) I want to see Portugal's fannydangling winger CRY.
b) Busted's 'Thunderbirds Are Go' (John Terry boshing elbow remix) shouldn't have been disqualified from Europop 2004.
c) Nelly Furtado is rub.

With the number of voters dropping the votes from managers carried a bit more weight, enough that I thought it would be fairer to enforce a 'touchline ban'.

I like both tracks but the England track's a bit too close to Deep Dish's boring old 'Flashdance'. not bad tho.
