Songs of 2006: Heat #4 final-qualifier playoff

Heat 4, a battlefield on which many SOLID GOLD TRACKS lie beaten and bloodied, has left us with a four-way tie as this lot haul themselves up for another go. There can be ONLY ONE WINNER; go forth and literally pick some pop.

[Poll #1734913]

[Poll #1734914]

This poll will close TUESDAY 3rd at lunchtime-ish GMT. Effing bank holidays.

You can still faux-vote, I think, you just have to be careful not to select anything... Anyway, will now hunt out these songs on YouTube and refresh my memory...

I am not actually familiar with Marit Larsen, but there's a plinky faux-country thing going on in the background on the version I'm listening to, and a jauntiness to it that reminds me of some folk music. And yet it's hard to tick something that you're only hearing for the first time, when you've practically grown up with "My Love" (I say 'grown up'; what I mean is: listened to a lot about 5-7 years ago). I've also got the Ciara album so have listened to that song a lot, too. Then again, if I'd listened to Marit before I filled out the poll this is a tiebreak for, presumably it wouldn't be a tiebreak. So hmm, hmmmm...

I think I'm going to have to go for Justin, though. (Also, I clearly mean "5 years" in the comment above, not 5-7, because I cannot count.)

This is why I tend to include an 'ARRRRGH WHY' option.

My Love may be my tune of the decade, but it's not as if I can willfully vote out Promise in even its favour. THE PAIN.

(Translation: abstaining until there's a clearer view of the lay of the land, so to speak.)
