Zig et Zag

Dem Girls Dem Girls:

One of the honestly great novelty hits, ragga re-imagined by puppet aliens and an apt first post to this community I hope. Dates from the era of the annual "Summer of Ragga" which never quite 'hit' despite the best efforts of the Zagamuffin.

I was thinking what the 'MP3 policy' of Poptimists should be and here is what I came up with:

- post anything you like.
- if you got it originally off an MP3 blog but it's expired now, try and credit and link the blog in question.
- if it's still on an MP3 blog, link to that blog post instead.

Truly there is honour amongst thieves.

Obviously this is not just for MP3s, it is for all kinds of everything.

Hyping your own projects and achievements is encouraged too.

I've never been prouder (except maybe for Where's Me Jumper?).

Did Zig & Zag have a UK TV career?

No, but I get v. few opportunities to be proud of Irish artists, might as well.

Signed by Simon Cowell! Oh wait so was everyone back then.

they were on teh big breakfast and hugely successful in being weird next to half-awake popstars (cf Gilbert the alien), and then went downhill when shoehorned into their own series (cf gilbert again, roland rat, gordon the gopher etcetc)
