I went for the Wu-Tang option, but to be honest it depends which one - I'd prefer Missy to some, maybe Jay-Z or Lil Wayne to a couple. Definite Wu preferences: Ghostface, GZA, Raekwon, Meth.

see if i could have an ODB verse, that would be top of the list. the others, not so much.

See, I figured that my single is likely to come out in the future, once pop comes around to old ugly blokes with horrible voices, so a dead man is not going to be on it. Otherwise he'd have been very much on my list.

i would have gone for lisa left eye lopez otherwise :(

I would have gone for Wu-Tang but my choice of ODB is obviously not going to happen, so it had to be T-Pain. I do have an app for it, after all.

PETEY PABLO because i heard 'Goodies' the other day for first time in a while and it was a v good, different-sounding turn from he

Much love for Missy's early 00s work but has she EVER been any good on guest verses?

[identity profile] bengraham.livejournal.com 2009-11-25 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd probably go Busta Rhymes, but in his absence, I went for Jigga.

Extra note: my favourite guest verse ever is by Ludacris, on Gossip Folks. He should be on the list.

At the moment I'd write in Gucci Mane provided he used an Animal Collective reference.

Seconding Ludacris. While Jay's guest verses are sometimes astounding and sometimes embarrassing, and Kanye's guest verses stopped being classic once he started putting out his own albums, and Wayne is...well, sort of cliche, Luda is the undeniable memorable+great guest-verse king. Can't think of a wrong step here...

Glamorous - Fergie
Yeah - Usher
Gossip Folks, One Minute Man - Missy
Oh, High Price - Ciara
etc
etc
etc

as the man himself said, in a guest verse, 'wanna go platinum, i'm who you should get'

Luda or The-Dream would have got my vote.

Nearly went for Flo-Rida though. He hasn't done many, he just says 'shawty' a lot, and then he's outta there. Respect. ;)

What does the T stand for in T-Pain's name? I was hoping Terry or Trevor, if so then I'd choose him. Otherwise it'd be a guest rap from Jay-Z about staying in and drinking tea.

Snoop! Snoop! Snoop!

...but if I were to put out a record, I would also be enraptured to have Missy or Ghostface or the Gza or Raekwon or Luda or Kanye (yes really) or Kim or the Gift of Gab or Fat Lip, but not Jay-Z who has made many great tunes but just sounds lumbering on anyone else's.
